Key Responsibilities
- The Position is responsible for managing the procurement activities related to tower construction projects, including the acquisition of materials, equipment, subcontracted services, and suppliers. The role ensures that all purchases are cost-effective, meet quality standards, and comply with contractual obligations, while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety, and environmental regulations.
- PROCUREMENT STRATEGY & PLANNING:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for the construction of towers, including identifying cost-effective sourcing options, supply chain optimization, and long-term vendor partnerships.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to determine project requirements and procurement timelines.
- SUPPLIER & VENDOR MANAGEMENT:
- Identify and select suppliers and subcontractors that provide high-quality materials and services within budget constraints.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure favorable pricing, quality, delivery, and service.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers to improve procurement opportunities.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- COST CONTROL & BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
- Develop procurement budgets and monitor expenditures, ensuring that all purchases are within approved project budgets.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as negotiating better pricing, bulk purchases, or alternative materials.
- Track and manage procurement costs to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
- CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
- Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of all materials and services in accordance with contractual terms, and handle any disputes or issues with vendors or subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- INVENTORY & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and equipment, ensuring that they are available when needed to avoid project delays.
- Collaborate with the project team to forecast material requirements and coordinate the timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment to avoid damage, waste, or loss.
- RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, environmental, and safety regulations, and that all suppliers adhere to ethical sourcing practices.
- Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and availability of materials, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION:
- Maintain detailed records of all procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Provide regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, supplier performance, and project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing audits and reviews of procurement practices to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Kowledge & Skills required
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain management.
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs while maintaining quality.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of construction regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Training & Qualifications required
- 5 or more years of senior supply management experience
- Operational management experience, or experience in the primary service delivery of the organization is typical
- Procurement consulting (i.e., partner level for many years)
- The sell-side of a large supplier segment
- The biggest requirement, though, is a proven track record of delivering large savings and other value to large swaths of spend via a strong team of employees. The more spend and employees you manage (and savings you generate), the better
educational background
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance or a related area / Dynamic and initiative/ Ability to work both in teams and individually
