Purpose of the position. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the finacial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Financial Controller will manage the accounting process, monitor financial performance, ensure compliance with all the relevant regulations and provide support to business decisions by working closely with other departments.
- JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports and analysis as well as monthly variance analysis from the budget
- Ensure books are closed on a monthly basis in a timely and accurate manner
- Support the budget and forecast creation process by collecing date from the relevant departments and creating the final reports for review
- Ensure compliance with all the local authorities and regulations by ensuring all payments and filings are done in time
- Coordinate the external and internal audit processes
- Prepare a quarterly cash forecast weekly for review
- Ensure banking relationships and optimize any requirements
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls to ensure no fraud and minial risks
- Follow up on work in progress to ensure it is invoiced in the shortes time possible
- Ensure there are no overdue debts and follow up on any overdues
- Oversee reconciliation of supplier and client accounts
- Oversee monthly stock take and explain any variances
- Ensure proper records of assets are kept and report on any variances
- Ensure all reporting to the group is done in a timely and accurate manner
- Reconcile expenditures
- Conduct Employee survey
- Miscellaneous: Any other duties as assigned by Superior.
- QUALITY, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT MISSION
- Respect the rules defined within the framework of the Environmental Management System,
- Report any identified environmental non-compliance
- Inform of any modification that could modify the impacts and / or the texts
Required qualities
- Honesty, integrity, trustworthy and reliability
- Knowledge of the Tanzania labor laws
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
- Good knowledge in use of HRMIS
- Familiarity with Microsoft office suite
- Competency with internet and email
Knowledge & Skills required
- Word processing skills
- Attention to details
- Ability to work under pressure and to produce results in short timelinesMinimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Good time management skills
Initial training & Experiences required
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
- Professional certification (CPA or ACCA)
- Experience of a minimum of 5 years preferably in a telecommunication, manufacturing or extraction industry
- Expérience using SAGE pastel or related ERP
- Proficiency in MS office
- Posses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, communication and high level of integrity and professionalism
